Marine oil pans are subject to special conditions. The lack of air flowing around the Oil Pan creates higher oil temperatures which destroy the lubricating properties of the oil in low capacity oil pans. The motion of the boat in the water sloshes the oil in a pan without the correct baffling. Air could get to the pickup resulting in momentary oil pressure loss. The oil also can be tossed into the crank which can foam and aerate it. The pounding effect of oil in the pan can also cause fractures in pans without reinforcement. The design and construction of CANTON Marine oil pans makes sure there are no problems in the roughest conditions. These features are included in all our pans:
- High Capacity Sumps to combat heat and add longevity to oil.
- Trap door baffling to control oil slosh.
- Removable windage tray to hold oil down away from the crank.
