Street or Track's 13" Cobra front bracket kit for '68-'73 DISK or '75-'80
GRANADA spindles
This brand new bracket kit enables owners of 68-73 Mustang
DISK or 75-80 Granada spindles an affordable and easy conversion to larger
brakes. The kit uses a custom designed billet 6061-T6 aluminum bracket and
allows use of OE SN95 1994-2004 Cobra calipers and 13" rotors.
Here are the components included in the kit:
-
Billet 6061-T6 aluminum brackets
-
OE Cobra anchors modified to fit our brackets
-
Hub-centric adapter shims
-
Hardware to mount anchors to brackets and brackets to spindle

Here is a list of parts not included but required for
the conversion:
-
'65-'73 V8 OE Mustang DRUM hubs with inner & outer
bearings, races, dust seals, keyed washers, retaining nuts, cotter pins and
dust covers.
-
SN95 1994-2004 13" Cobra front rotors & Cobra PBR
calipers, pads with retaining pins and e-clips.
-
17" or larger wheels.
-
Wheel spacers* to position wheel in wheel arch at desired
position or use 17x8 TTM wheels #
SB105MS7865B or
SB105MS7865A without spacers (like we did on this test car).
-
Correct length wheel studs. You'll need wheel studs long
enough to seat in the hub, go through the rotor and wheel spacer (if using
one), then through the wheel and engage approx. 3/4" inside the lug nut. We
can supply ARP studs. Or, use TTM wheels like we did that don't require
a wheel spacer!

our article on what wheels fit the SN95 Cobra rotor and our higher hat offset
rotor option.
-
Brake hoses, crush washers and banjo bolts.
-
Master cylinder. Early Cobra calipers used 2 x 38mm
pistons, we recommend using a
15/16ths bore master cylinder. Later Cobra's & Mach 1's used 2 x 40mm
pistons, we recommend using a
1" bore master cylinder.
Everything listed above that is not included in the
standard kit is available from Street or Track. Please contact us with
additional parts you need.
Our test car in these pictures is a 1970 Mustang with factory
brakes:

We removed the OE rotors, splash shields and calipers and
installed 65-73 OE drum hubs. We replaced the bearings, inner seals and
wheel studs as a matter of maintenance:

Next on goes our custom made hub-centric adapter shims, the OE
SN95 Cobra rotor and our bracket:

Here is a shot of the Cobra caliper installed. For that
extra bling we used our powder coated gloss black calipers but any SN95 Cobra
caliper will fit:

Just for comparison, look at the stock rotors next to the 13"
Cobra ones:

We used a set of our
DOT legal braided stainless flex lines, bled the system and put on a set of
17x8 Torq Thrust M Shelby wheels #SB105MS7865B.
These wheels are a direct bolt on and need NO spacers for this
conversion. If you want to use Torq Thrust II wheels, take a look at our
13" Rotor & bracket kit for DISK spindles:

Here are a few more shots of our test car:

This is a super simple, cost effective upgrade for those that want better
stopping power and larger wheels. Please contact us with any questions.
